Counselling
A supportive space to be heard, understood and explore your next steps.
Willow & Ark Wellness offers person-centred counselling that respects your individual experiences, strengths and circumstances. Together, we explore what matters to you and work towards your goals at a pace that feels manageable. Your privacy is respected. Before counselling begins, we explain confidentiality, its limits and your choices.
A Space That Is Yours
Counselling provides space to explore your thoughts, emotions, experiences, relationships and challenges. It can help you build self-awareness, consider different perspectives and develop practical strategies to support your wellbeing and the changes you would like to make.
How Counselling Can Help
Counselling may support you to:
- Navigate life changes and challenging experiences.
- Explore stress, worry, difficult emotions or low mood.
- Strengthen relationships and communication.
- Build self-esteem, confidence and self-awareness.
- Develop healthy coping and emotional regulation strategies.
- Explore identity, values, purpose and what matters to you.
- Recognise patterns that may be affecting your wellbeing.
- Develop greater clarity and direction.
Our Approach to Counselling
Willow & Ark Wellness takes a trauma-informed, person-centred and strengths-based approach to counselling.
Trauma-Informed
We recognise that past and present experiences can influence how people feel, respond and relate to the world around them. Our approach prioritises safety, trust, choice and collaboration. You will not be pressured to disclose experiences before you feel ready.
Person-Centred
You bring the knowledge of your own life and experiences. Counselling is collaborative and guided by your individual needs, values and goals. We work together at a pace that feels manageable for you.
Strengths-Based
Alongside exploring challenges, we recognise your existing strengths, capabilities, relationships and resources. Together, we consider how these can support your wellbeing and the changes you would like to make.
What Can I Expect?
Counselling at Willow & Ark Wellness is relaxed, respectful and conversational. Your first session provides time to understand what has brought you to counselling, what matters to you and what you would like support with. We also discuss consent, privacy, confidentiality and its limits, fees and how we will work together.
You don't need to have everything figured out before you arrive, and you don't have to share anything you are not ready to discuss. You can ask questions, request a pause or talk about a different approach. Together, we identify what you would like to work towards and review how counselling is working for you.
"You don't need to have everything figured out before you arrive."

Practice is guided by the ACA Code of Ethics and Practice, the National Code of Conduct for Health Care Workers in Queensland and applicable legal obligations, supported by professional supervision and ongoing learning.
Before counselling begins, we explain consent, fees, privacy and the limits of confidentiality. We work within our qualifications and experience and discuss referral options when another service may better meet your needs.
Privacy & Your Rights
You have the right to respectful care, clear information and informed choices. We explain how your information is handled and when it may need to be shared for legal or safety reasons. You can ask questions, request a pause or choose to stop counselling. Contact us to request our Privacy Policy or information about your rights.
Feedback & Complaints
Your voice matters. To share feedback, raise a concern or request our Feedback and Complaints Procedure, contact Sherrie on 0467 885 746 or Admin@willowarkwellness.com. You can raise concerns verbally or in writing, with a support person or advocate if you wish.
We will explain the next steps, keep you informed and treat your concern sensitively. Making a complaint will not result in unfair treatment.
